Struggling to find the perfect support while you sleep? Are you awake all night flipping your pillow to find the perfect temperature? Stay cool with the Clara Clark Viscose made from Bamboo Shredded Memory Foam Pillow and enjoy a better sleep. With more support you will have a better alignment and less neck and back pain. That’s the promise, anyway. Here are a couple of photos of the Clara Clark Pillow that we tried out. You can also check out the rest of our bamboo memory foam pillow reviews for some other options.

The Clara Clark Bamboo Pillow comes in a really nice, easy to carry package. This was definitely one of the nicest packaging arrangements we saw amongst all the bamboo pillows we tested.

A full shot of the pillow after we got it out of the Package. It takes about 30 minutes for the pillow to completely decompress from being in the package.

The most common issue of the Clara Clark Viscose made from Bamboo Shredded Memory Foam Pillow is the strong odor of the pillow once it is removed from its package. However, because of the viscose from bamboo elements, the pillow can breathe better than normal. Within 24-48 hours the smell will go away once it is properly aired out.

Inside the Clara Clark Bamboo Pillow

We also had some issues with the memory foam on the interior. There were lots of tiny pieces of foam that didn’t seem to stay in the pillow properly. They are also really sticky. Some photos of the interior and the sticky little bits of foam that it left behind:

The Clara Clark did have a nice removable cover with a zipper to make it simple to take the cover off to wash it whenever is convenient. Inside this outer cover is another inner cover that contains all of the shredded memory foam. If you open the second inner cover, then you can add or remove additional memory foam: see the picture below for more detail.

Little sticky bits of memory foam that were left behind. We also found lots of little bits like this on the outside of the pillow sticking to the cover.
This was a real turn-off for us.

So, like we said in the captions, this is a pretty nice pillow. The exterior cover is 60% microfiber and 40% Bamboo rayon and was really nice and soft. Unfortunately, there were small pieces of memory foam that were stuck to it, which seemed to be getting through the coverings. The problem really seemed to be that the memory foam was shredded so finely that there were very tiny bits of it. You can see details of the memory foam in the pictures above.

Another upside to the Clara Clark bamboo pillow was that the exterior cover was easy to remove so you can easily wash the cover.

One thing we really liked about the Clara Clark pillow was the packaging. It’s really high quality and has a nice carrying handle, but once you take the pillow out, I can’t imagine you would be able to get it back into the package, so I’m not sure I see the point in the carrying handle. If there were some way to repackage it, then maybe it would be an easy pillow to transport with the handle. Unfortunately, after the pillow fluffed up, I don’t think there’s anyway you could smash it down sufficiently to get it back into the case.

Bamboo Sheets HeroWhen I’m not studying up on the latest eco-friendly ways to produce everyday items (particularly using bamboo), you can find me playing trivia at a local bar, or hanging out at the beach.

I love the idea of using an abundant resource like bamboo to make a huge varieties of items we use everyday.  Particularly when those are currently being made with plastic, or plants that require pesticides and a huge amount of water to grow.

Hopefully this site will inspire people to think about ways they can improve their sleep, decrease the strain they put on the environment, and generally get better, long-lasting products that are also sustainable and of higher quality than the products they are used to.
